Robertsons partnered with the HKFYG Leadership Institute for Moot Court Summer School

July 30, 2026

Robertsons is delighted to have partnered with the HKFYG Leadership Institute as the Professional Legal Training Partner for their Moot Court Summer School last week.

The four-day programme brought together more than sixty Secondary 3 to Secondary 6 students with an interest in law, giving them a valuable introduction to the foundations of law, courtroom procedure and advocacy skills. The programme culminated in a mock trial held at the Former Fanling Magistracy, with Retired Magistrate, William Lam Kui-po, and Barrister, Alexander Burg, serving as judges. Students learned to scrutinise evidence, weigh competing arguments with an open mind, and cultivate the confidence to think critically and speak persuasively under pressure.

Led by our Partner, Johnny Ho, and Associate, Gladys Wong, Robertsons was pleased to support the programme by assisting with curriculum design and developing the mock trial case and training materials. Our lawyers also provided training to group leaders and participants, helping them sharpen their analytical thinking, case preparation and oral advocacy skills.

We thank the HKFYG Leadership Institute for this meaningful partnership, which gave students hands-on insights into the legal profession at an early stage, the opportunity to learn directly from legal practitioners, and inspiration to explore their future academic and career pathways.
