Michael Lintern-Smith, Robertsons’ Consultant and Full Fellow of the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute, acted as a panellist in the Institute’s 4^th AML/CFT Conference on 24^th November 2023. He spoke about what the Revised AMLO (Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance) means for designated non-financial businesses and professions, covering the need for practitioners to have a greater focus on client risk assessment under a risk-based approach, noteworthy guidelines published by the Financial Action Task Force and the Law Society of Hong Kong, and why client due diligence should be a continuing process.
