Robertsons’ Banking and Finance Department provides its financial services clients with a full service of legal requirements as well as advising on a wide range of financing transactions.
In conjunction with our Regulatory Department, we provide advice on all aspects of banking and money lending matters. We also represent clients on licensing and regulatory issues and in interviews and investigations by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Securities and Future Commission.
We act for both banks and lenders in a wide variety of both local and cross-border financing transactions and advise on effective methods of providing security for those arrangements.
Our team also assists both businesses and financial institutions in structuring and negotiating trade financing and the accompanying securities.
We also assist our Banking and Finance clients in preparing customer contracts, standard terms and conditions and all forms of banking documentation.
More recently, we have developed and expanded a dedicated team tasked with advising fintech innovators on legal and regulatory issues arising in respect of development, use and maintenance of fintech innovations.
Robertsons’ dedicated Fintech team works with fintech innovators in structuring and launching their Initial Coin Offerings (“ICOs”) (and pre-ICO funding rounds as well), as well as developing ownership, management and transactional structures that fit within relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
