October 10, 2025

Robertsons’ Paralegal (pending admission), Gladys Wong, collaborated with The Chinese University of Hong Kong (“CUHK”) on its social impact project “Promoting Deaf Access to Justice: Legal Basics in Hong Kong Sign Language” for the past 1.5 years, while she was a Trainee Solicitor at the firm. Together, they developed a legal databank website which combines Hong Kong Sign Language videos and educational visual graphics to empower the Deaf community with practical knowledge of Hong Kong’s legal system and services. Gladys contributed by designing all legal concept visual diagrams on the platform, transforming intricate legal ideas into accessible and intuitive graphics.

The social impact project, led by Professor TANG, Wai Lan Gladys, is supported by the Government’s Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund and CUHK’s Knowledge Transfer Fund, with the goal of enhancing the legal awareness of Deaf people, and increasing public awareness of their legal rights by constructing a sign-bilingual website on basic legal concepts and organising relevant workshops and training.

Gladys specializes in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and joint ventures, corporate restructurings, regulatory compliance, employment matters and general corporate and commercial work. She has a particular interest in legal technology and legal design, and has collaborated on initiatives with higher education institutions and NGOs in Hong Kong to improve access to justice through designing visual legal education tools.
