Michael Lintern-Smith was awarded an Honorary Membership by the Hong Kong Confederation of Insurance Brokers (HKCIB) on 5 December 2022. He first started advising the HKCIB in relation to the disciplinary procedures twenty-five years ago. He served ten years as the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee and then afterwards Robertsons took over the clerkship. He handled all the disciplinary cases before the HKCIB until this role was taken over by the newly formed Insurance Authority in 2019.

He has also provided pro bono advice on various aspects of ethical conduct matters and contributed to amendment of their Articles of Association in relation to disciplinary matters.
