Robertsons partner addresses Taiwan Asia Pacific Group on protocols for Customer Due Diligence procedures to combat Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing

Michael Lintern-Smith spoke to the Asia Pacific Group (APG) which regulates anti-money laundering requirements in certain Asian countries.  It imposes the FATF approved methods of Customer Due Diligence.

He shared with the audience the benefit of Hong Kong Law Society's experience in providing guidelines to its members.  The audience in Taipei at the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing Symposium on 4 October 2016 was composed of lawyers, accountants, property agents and other Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs).

Michael Lintern-Smith has been Chairman of the Law Society of Hong Kong's Anti-Money Laundering Committee and was instrumental and introducing Practice Direction P to the profession.
